RV Vents - Toilet Vents

Xtreme Vent - CNW-XV001

The extreme after-market solution for holding tank and toilet odors!

  • The Xtreme vent is a revolutionary quality crafted after-market vent that replaces the conventional vent cap and is the solution to a bothersome problem that RV owners deal with, the problem of holding tank odor.
  • Presently your holding tank must build up pressure to push odor and gases up and out of your vent pipe. This pressure is what forces odor into your living space.
  • The Xtreme vent eliminates the need for pressure build up by continually vacuuming the odor and gases from your holding tank. With Xtreme vent there is virtually no pressure build up to force odor into your living space!
  • The Xtreme vent rotates 360 degrees and works immediately, quietly, effectively, whether you are traveling or parked and will continue to do so for the lifetime of your RV, guaranteed!
  • The Xtreme vent is low profile standing only 5 inches from top to base. 2 stainless steel screws are included to mount the unit on your vent pipe.
  • The Xtreme vent body and base are made of laser cut, powder coated aluminum... NOT plastic as cheaper vents are.

SIMPLIFIED INSTALLATION WHEN THERE IS NOT ENOUGH PIPE EXPOSED.

When there is not enough pipe exposed we currently cut the roof cap vent around the screw ring, caulk the roof and then install the Vent. The solution to the problem has been found. After more than a year of searching I found an internal coupling that will allow two pieces of 1.5” ABS to be joined together from the INSIDE. Regular plumbing connections that you can get at Home Depot, Lowes etc go on the outside of the pipe, not the inside.

The challenge was if there wasn’t enough exposed pipe to install the vent you couldn’t put on a sleeve to add another piece of ABS. Sometimes the pipe is down inside the cap. Now with this new coupler we can solve the problem very easily WITHOUT cutting the roof top vent cap off. This works in most cases. In some cases when you remove the cap, the pipe is offset and you cannot slip this inside the rooftop ABS pipe and will have to cut off the vent cap as discussed in the instruction sheet.

The coupler comes with a 2 ½” length of ABS. The cost is $7 but it saves a lot of time, work and aggravation. The great thing is you don’t have to go in search of the coupling (which is almost impossible to find) and buy a 10’ length of ABS in order to get a 2 ½” piece.

If the pipe is below the top of the vent cap and the fit around the ring is really tight, try lubricating the cap and the pipe with a little oil or Vaseline so you can slip it down inside the cap to connect to the pipe. Another option is to sand or file the opening a bit to make it a little larger. If you do sand the opening to enlarge it, caulk around the opening to prevent leaks. Don’t forget to use Multi-Purpose Adhesive (not available at most Home Depot Stores, but is available at Lowes and Ace Hardware) as regular adhesive won’t work on PVC & ABS.
